Melissa Dorsey
As an advocate for the organization’s core objectives to provide equal opportunity to promote professionalism, inclusion, growth, and advocacy, Melissa Dorsey joined Blacks in Government at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (BIG@CMS) in 2022.
Melissa Dorsey started her federal career at CMS in 2011. Currently, Melissa is working within the Center of Clinical Standards and Quality (CCSQ), iQuality Improvement and Innovation Group (QIIG) as a Director in the Division of Kidney. Her professional background includes 22 years of technical expertise on program operations, policy, acquisition planning and execution, and contractor performance tracking, and supporting and facilitating actionable results across HHS agencies.
Melissa holds a Master degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Maryland, University of College and a Bachelor of Science in Community Health Education from Morgan State University—Go BEARS! In my spare time away from work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, three children (Joseph Jr -18; Justin-14; and Maya Dorsey-10), playing board games, traveling abroad, and making her homemade Caribbean blended all-purpose green seasoning named “Melicious Seasoning.
